Thursday would have been perfect if the weather had been good. As we were at an altitude of 2300m (nearly 3 times the height of Piton des la petit riviere noire) we were literary in thick heavy cloud. When we arrived at the top, the volcano which is normally a magnificent sight was totally deleted from our view by the clouds. We however saw a bit of the 'plain of sand' which resembles the surface of the moon. It was so cold up there, and none of us were quite prepared for those freezing temperatures. After a picnic lunch in the freezing weather, we went for a fantastic visit to the 'Maison du Volcan' a museum on the volcano. There were many interactive educational activities, which the children absolutely loved. the 4 D movie was a major highlight, as it took us through a volcano!! The shopping, well, that was interesting! I shan't say more about that!!
Now we are all looking forward to the adventure that is waiting for us tomorrow morning at "Makes Adventure" and the visit to St. Pierre. I believe there is a pizza place there that makes the best pizza in the world. So we will be sure to tell you all about it!! We just need good weather tomorrow, so please pray with us.
