With great speed, the week flew by and now our final day in Reunion had arrived. The students, obviously eager to get going, had no problem waking up earlier than usual. Most of the packing had happened the night before and so there was only the matter of sorting out bedding, having breakfast and then final last minute checks that all was in order. Good-byes to our very special Claudie with a gift to say a HUGE thank you!! And of course hugs all round. It was the trip of a life time, and it was now time to go home.
The suitcase frenzy while rushing to get ready.
Thanking Claudie and presenting her with beautiful gifts from all the 2016 Grade 6's.
Hugs and more hugs! It was truly a special time.
Getting our lunches from George and Sasha presenting him with a gift of appreciation.
Last group photo and we're on our way!

Once we were down the windy mountain pass and on the highway heading north, everyone started planning on what they would be buying at the supermarket we would be making a stop at. There was certainly a buzz in the air with the last anticipated fun event.

Going in and going crazy especially in the sweet section!
Who would have thought shopping could be such hard work!!
Everyone seeing what each other bought.
Back on the bus once again and celebrating the open highway, we made our way closer to St. Dennis. Amazing tunnels were driven through and high rock cliff faces covered with wire safety mesh were seen. Finally we stopped at an unusual spot for lunch - an abandoned old railway area with a real steam train to play on. Opened in the 1800's, it was fun to look around while everyone ate their lunches and rested.
Sitting on the platform of the old station, facing the construction of the new highway being built over the ocean.
Hungry boys enjoying their tasty sandwiches
Don't worry, the girls were just as hungry as the boys.
Getting some shade
Ahhh - almost there...
