After seeing the amazing giant blue telescope on Monday, the students finally got to see the beautiful clear night sky through it tonight. It was definitely chilly but we all quadrupled our layers to make sure we could enjoy the star gazing. First we got to see the moon in its crescent form just before it went behind the mountain. It was truly breath taking, especially because it was shimmering due to the sun heating the moons surface to about 120 degrees celsius. After we had looked and looked some more, and even taken a few photos with our cell phones, we moved on to see Saturn. Through this telescope we could see much better and  we even got to see a few of Saturn's moons. The biggest and clearest one being Titan. We then saw M7, which have thousands and thousands of stars, very visible through the telescope. Lastly, we saw Mars, which although was much bigger, it was an oval shape and shimmered. Everyone definitely had their fill of exploring the stars, planets and constellations!!
